So I got some generic black hood insulation for the Cruiser. It has to be cut to size of course. But even if it didn't need to be, I would like to keep the inner layer from shredding and getting into the engine. What's the best way to do this? It's made for high temp so I wonder if it would seal with a heat gun or torch? Should I try and sew the edges shut? Using a crapload of staples to close the edges would look ghetto but it would probably work.

Another thing I'd like to do with it is tape off and paint on the Oldsmobile name and rocket logo, just like my mudflaps. In high temp white paint. Making sure it misses the fasteners. Considering the 6000 STE has a logo on its hood insulation.
